SELF-EMPOWERMENT EXERCISE WITH BODY PAINTING AND SYMBOLISM and DRUM CIRCLE

Men gather from the shadows, smiling, drums in hand, circling the welcoming campfire.  Firelight flashes across rugged bodies in the cool desert night. Closing his eyes, one man starts a simple rhythm, it growing more complex, more heartfelt as the others find their pulse, layering their beat over the changing rhythm.  Positive energy surges through the healing night air as they pound out their own part of the cadence. Each man feels his intention, focusing on his own breath, undulation and alignment. Feeling present, my eyes close and the groove in my gut is wrapped in the voice of our drums. An amazing comfort swells in me, indescribable and lingering, calming and present.
