Artist Statement:
Now that I am retired I get to do all the things I love to do and one of them is creating art. I was an art major in high school and took a lot of art classes in college, although I never did get a degree in art. I sculpted mostly in clay and in later years used found objects to sculpt with. Now I am finding great joy in painting. As a teen I did a lot of psychedelics that radically impacted my way of seeing the world for the better. Some of the imagery and feelings showed up in artistic expression and still does to this day. Our culture does not have a problem with showing full frontal nudity of women but the fully naked male form, particularly when erect, is seen with distain and is considered shameful rather than something to be celebrated. The word phallus comes from the same root word in latin as fascination. For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by penises, especially when hard, I love men and their hard ejaculating cocks. It is way past time as a culture to rid ourselves of shame about having the genitals we men have and begin to honor our erotic selves. These paintings are an expression of the sacredness, joy and fascination of cocks. I see them everywhere and what I see is beautiful. I love us men!
